Well… here we are… After quite some time of telling myself that I needed to make myself a blog I finally went and got one. That’s right, now -as opposed to before- you get to read about everything I do and say.
Currently there isn’t that much going on. Just finished my last midterm which was for Electronic Media in Live Performance. Don’t let that name fool you though it was the worst, least interesting, class ever. This is mainly due to the teacher who in all honesty looks like a character from Oblivion.
That is a pretty good idea of what she looks like. I hate her with every ounce of my soul. It’s really hard to explain the way in which I hate her so I am not going to try. Maybe one of these days I will record a class and post some choice quotes. Also because of this class I have to go see Cats. Yeah…
I can only hope the actors who are in cats have as much disdain for life as this cat did. Seriously right before I took this picture he was smoking a cigarette, nursing a bottle of Jack Daniels, and telling me all about ‘Nam.
The only other big thing thats going on is that I am leaving Japan. Kinda sad about it considering the past five or six months have been pretty much the best I’ve ever had. But with set back comes opportunity. Before retreating to the frigid north I get to road trip up the coast of Mexico and all the way back to Maine with my brother in a VW camper van. I don’t think words can describe the pure level of unadulterated awesome that trip will be.
Due to my eminent departure my roommates and I are going on basically a two month bender until I leave. It started this weekend with us hitting up a club in Shibuya. The club itself was pretty “meh” but it only cost us 3500 yen to drink all night so we got really drunk. Actually due to the strange consistency and speed with which we all drank the beer I went from completely sober to drunk without even realizing. Around this point we separated.
I proceeded to the dance floor where I won numerous dance offs against pseudo Japanese thugs. My drunken Irish Jig/falling because the floor was slippery was unbeatable. Also everyone knows dancing ability goes like so: asian<white<mexican<black. Derrick meanwhile was chatting up a bunch of Japanese people and somehow inadvertently met a girl. Keith was… well… Keith was sulking and doing unspeakable things. All in all a pretty good start.
This coming weekend we are having a house party for St. Patrick’s Day. I am pretty sure that Keith and I are going to set it up so the whole thing will be live on the internet if anyone wants to check it out.
Besides that we are heading to Kyoto and Osaka at the end of month and going to the Ueno Zoo, drunk if possible. If anyone out there in internet land has suggestions for more stuff to do be sure to let me know.
Oh and I bought a new hat.
